"Standing here today, looking at your youthful faces, it feels like I saw myself decades ago." On April 15, Wang He, winner of the Guangdong May 1st Labor Medal, member of the Guangzhou Municipal CPPCC Standing Committee, member of the Nanyue Craftsmen, founder of the craftsman master studio of the Guangzhou University Architectural Design Institute, and academician of the United Nations International Academy of Ecological Life Safety Science, shared the design path he has taken over the past 30 years at the Guangdong Workers' University Ideological and Political Course and Model Workers' Craftsmen's Campus Demonstration and Promotional Promotional Activity.

  Master Wang He shared the theme on the spot

  "Architect is not only the construction of space, but also the continuation of culture and the echo of the times. On the road of unswervingly advancing high-quality development, Lingnan architecture and Lingnan culture will surely continue to shine." Wang He has been engaged in architectural design and scientific research and teaching for more than 30 years, with more than 100 design projects and nearly 100 awards. The Songyuan Hotel, the "East Building No. 1" of Zhudao Hotel, and the "Village Chief Court" of Guangzhou Asian Games Village... he left behind architectural works with unique Lingnan characteristics.

  In his speech, Wang Guodong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Guangzhou University, pointed out that the spirit of model workers, labor spirit and craftsman spirit are vivid manifestations of the national spirit with patriotism as the core and the spirit of the times with reform and innovation as the core, and are also the "spiritual calcium tablets" for young people to grow and develop in the new era.   Wang He, founder of the Nanyue Craftsman Skills Master Studio of the Institute of Architectural Design of Guangzhou University, shared with "Inheriting the Lingnan architectural context and using craftsmanship to stabilize the path of scientific and technological culture confidence in the new era". Wang He recalled that after graduating from university, he was assigned to Zhujiang Foreign-funded Design Institute to engage in architectural design work. The first project he came into contact with the design masters of the design institute was the International Financial Building on Dongfeng West Road, which was responsible for designing the windows of the exterior wall of the building. He and his team members extracted abstract symbols from classical coins and cloth coins and deconstructed and reorganized them. They used modern aluminum materials to make window shapes similar to coins. The final result allowed him to win the first prize of the design career "Guangzhou Excellent Design Award First Prize". The inspiration for this design comes from tradition, but is interpreted with modern materials, reflecting the beauty of the times and full of the charm of New Lingnan architecture. Since then, I have strengthened my determination to protect the architectural context of Lingnan.

  Over the past 30 years of design journey, Wang He has accumulated hundreds of design works, including Guangzhou Songyuan, Zhudao Hotel's "East No. 1 Project", Guangzhou Asian Games Village "Village Chief Court", Congdu International Conference Forum Hotel, Guangzhou International Media Port, etc., which he participated in the design are all well known to citizens. Among them, in 2010, "Songyuan Scenery" and "Tile Ridge" won the silver award of the "Hundred Flowers Award" of China Arts and Crafts at the China South China Arts and Crafts Masters' Boutique Expo.

  In his sharing, Wang He said that China's "design +" is undergoing a discipline reconstruction of "one into three": the sensibility of art, the rationality of engineering, and the fusion of interdisciplinary disciplines. The three seem to be different, but in essence they are mutually exclusive. Design has become a "methodology" to break discipline barriers and solve technical problems, build a "full-chain" design ecosystem, promote the integration of disciplines of "following the cross-border laboratories", establish a "design +" cross-border laboratory, and realize the wisdom of "overtaking on the curve" to "overtaking on the lane". Give full play to design to empower new manufacturing, new materials and new industries, promote additive manufacturing 3D printing, and realize free design of complex geometric space forms based on digital design. Apply these advantages to aerospace, medical care, automobiles, and industrial manufacturing to accelerate the formation of new quality productivity. We have also applied its technology to prefabricated buildings, making building a house a high-end manufacturing.

  Rural teachers used a jump rope to teach more than 30 world champions. This is the story of Lai Xuanzhi, the winner of the National May 1st Labor Medal and vice principal of Huadong School in Huadu District, Guangzhou. At the lecture site, Lai Xuanzhi shared how he led the children of rural primary schools to the world stage with the title "Using jumping rope to make rural children have a chance to have a brilliant life". At the scene, he also brought five junior high school students to show off their ropes and their wonderful performance won applause from the audience. "I specially brought them to the university to see it. I hope they will take the university as their goal to continue to pursue and will also contribute to their needs in the motherland in the future." He said.
